England's Marc Guehi makes me so proud - ex-coach3 hours agoBy Daniel Sexton,avrupa şampiyonu hangi takım oldu BBC News, South EastShareSteve OwenMarc Guehi (centre, holding the trophy) went to school in GravesendThe former coach of England defender Marc Guehi has spoken of his "immense pride" as he prepares to line up for England in the Euro 2024 final.Steve Owen first spotted Guehi playing when he was five and took him to Cray Wanderers in Kent, before the defender later went on to Chelsea.The former Gravesend schoolboy has played in all but one of England's games at the Euros, and Mr Owen believes he has made the most of the experience the tournament has given him.He said: "Marc has really laid down a marker with his performances in this tournament and has shown maturity beyond his years. Hopefully he can keep the shirt moving forward."Mr Owen, who has been a football scout for over 35 years, said that Guehi is one of the most focused players he has ever seen.He said: "Marc hardly ever put a foot wrong in training - he was a coach's dream. "You would show him something a couple of times and he would understand straight away, unlike a lot of kids. He was very determined."He has always been a defender too, that's all he was ever interested in even at age six. I'd encourage him to go past the half way line in training but he'd never do it. I thought it was uncanny and he wasn't enjoying himself but he was." "The whole school community wishes you all the very best of luck on Sunday against Spain in the Euro 2024 Final. We'll be watching on proudly.
